The Perfect Weekend on the Hatfield McCoy Trails
Start Your Weekend the Right Way
There is something different about riding the southern Hatfield McCoy trail systems. Pocahontas, Indian Ridge, Pinnacle Creek, and Warrior offer miles of ridgelines, coal country views, and winding forest trails that feel untouched. The best way to experience it is to slow down, settle in for the weekend, and ride it the way it was meant to be ridden.
Your perfect weekend starts the moment you arrive at Buffalo Trail Cabins and Restaurant.
Cabin Check In and Trail Ready

Buffalo Trail Cabins sits right in the heart of the trail system. Your cabin becomes your basecamp for the entire weekend. No trailers. No hauling machines around. Everything is right there waiting for you.
When you stay at Buffalo Trail, your rental machines from Eagle ATV are available directly on site at the cabins. Walk out your door and your Yamaha RMAX is ready to go.
It is the easiest way to ride these trails.
Choose Your Ride Experience
At Eagle ATV Rental and Guided Tours, we run Yamaha RMAX machines because they are built for these mountains. They are comfortable for long days, extremely capable on rocky climbs, and reliable in the unpredictable Appalachian terrain.

Choose two ways to explore.
| Guided Tours | Self Guided Riding |
| Ride with an experienced guide who knows the trail systems inside and out. Our guides take you to scenic overlooks, hidden trail sections, and some of the best riding spots in southern West Virginia. | Our machines include an onboard navigation system designed specifically for the Hatfield McCoy Trails. There are pre-planned routes already installed for popular destinations. |
Our machines include an onboard navigation system designed specifically for the Hatfield McCoy Trails.

The navigation system shows your location on the trail map in real time. You always know where you are and where you are heading. This allows you to explore at your own pace while staying confident on the trail system.
Either way, the goal is simple. Ride more and worry less.
A Full Day on the Trails
Your day starts with mountain air, coffee at the cabin, and the sound of machines warming up in the morning.
From there the trails open up.
You will climb ridgelines with views across southern West Virginia. You will ride through hardwood forests and along old mining roads that wind through the mountains. Some sections are smooth and fast. Others challenge your driving skills with rock climbs and technical turns.
The Yamaha RMAX handles all of it with ease.
By midday you stop at scenic overlooks or trail towns for a break, then head back out for more miles before the sun starts dropping behind the mountains.
This is what these trails were built for.
Back at Buffalo Trail

After a full day riding, you return directly to your cabin. No loading machines. No driving back to town.
Just park the RMAX and walk to dinner.
Buffalo Trail Restaurant serves great food, cold drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere where riders gather after a day on the trail.

You will see groups swapping trail stories, planning tomorrow’s ride, and relaxing after a long day in the mountains.
End the Night the Right Way
Back at your cabin the night slows down.

Start a campfire. Sit back with friends or family. Watch the stars come out over the Appalachian mountains.
Tomorrow you wake up and do it all again.
