Yamaha RMAX Service & Repair
Expert Yamaha RMAX 1000 service from the Destination Yamaha shop right at the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. Common service items, honest flat-rate pricing, and the same care we give our own rental fleet.
Common RMAX Service Items
Prices shown are retail estimates using genuine Yamaha and premium parts at a $100/hour labor rate. Final pricing is confirmed after we inspect your machine. All service is performed by our Yamaha-trained technician.
Oil Change
$191.74
Complete oil and filter change using up to 4.6 quarts of Yamalube 10W-40 full synthetic, a new oil filter, and new crush washers.
Includes 1 hour of labor, oil filter, and new crush washers.
Full Fluid Service
$314.21
Complete fluid service — everything in our oil change plus 3 quarts of Amsoil Severe Gear 80W-90 GL-5 in the transmission and both differentials. The best way to protect the driveline on a hard-working RMAX.
Includes engine oil, filter, gear oil, all crush washers, and 1.5 hours of labor.
Oil Cooler Line Replacement
$598.38
Complete replacement of both engine oil cooler lines and O-rings with genuine Yamaha parts. Worn or chafed oil cooler lines are the #1 cause we see for blown RMAX engines.
Strongly recommended add-on: Protective Sleeve — $25. The oil lines ride against the skid plate, and trapped dirt there wears a hole right through a bare line. For $25 (no added labor) it is the cheapest engine insurance on the machine.
Includes both oil lines, O-rings, and 2 hours of labor. Add the protective sleeve for $25.
Brake Pad Service
From $84.99/corner
Genuine Yamaha brake pad kits, one kit per corner. Pricing depends on your model year:
- 2021–2024 RMAX — Front $84.99/corner, Rear $94.99/corner
- 2025+ RMAX — $145.99/corner (same kit fits every corner)
Prices are per corner and include pads plus labor. Tell us your model year and which corners you need.
Tie Rod Replacement
$176.02/side
Replacement of worn or bent tie rods — common after hard trail hits. Priced per side so you only pay for what you need.
Per side: OEM rack end and hardware plus 0.7 hours labor. Both sides typically $352.04.
Rear Knuckle Bushings & Pins
From $100.00/side + parts
Restore tight, precise rear-end handling with new rear knuckle bushings, pins, and thrust washers. A worn rear knuckle causes clunks and sloppy tracking on the trail. Priced per side.
$100/side labor plus bushings, pins, and thrust washers billed at OEM retail.
Parking Brake Adjustment

Get your parking brake holding tight again. Pricing depends on your model:
- RMAX2 or RMAX4 Compact — $75.00
- RMAX4 LWB — $150.00
